How It Works
A Monday-night combined Golf + Bowl Doubles league, Paddock Bowl-sanctioned, in its 31st year. One league, one roster, two score components per match.
Golf is 9 holes at Sky Links at Buchanan (4:30 PM tee); bowling is 3 games at Paddock Bowl on lanes 11-20. Every team is a doubles pair.
Each match is worth 8 points: 4 from golf, 4 from bowling. Golf: one point for each 3-hole segment (1-3, 4-6, 7-9) plus one for the total; lower net wins. Bowling: one point per game plus one for the series; higher net wins. Ties split ½-½.
Golf handicaps are 80% and bowling 90% of the difference from a base average. You carry a current running handicap that updates every week; the season-high awards are judged on a separate handicap frozen at Week 1. So a player who beats their average can show a lower current handicap than the frozen number their awards are valued on. That’s expected, not a bug.
An absent player is scored a blind (golf 45, bowl 160 per game), so the match still scores. Subs play in a missing partner’s place; blind and partial games don’t count toward eligibility.
Sweeper night and season awards require 8 rounds of golf and 24 games of bowling. The season runs 13 weeks: a position round in Week 12 and Sweeper Night on Aug 24 (Week 13).
